Hello! my name is Joe

Hi my name is Joe. I'm a bit of an old head that has been using computers for a long time. I've decided to go back to school to really learn the technical skills to work in IT, and then maybe progress to network architecture or software development. Doing the python and MySQL classes has familiarized me with the coding environment a little and so far HTML is fun beause of the visual element.

I don't do as much "surfing the web" anymore because I feel like social media usurped the fun ones like ebaumsworld.com and ytmnd.com. I love movies and TV, so I go to rottentomatoes.com pretty often to look at movie and TV reviews and I do like how the top areas of the page squish together when you scroll down, and then the navigation buttons highlight from left to right.

Another website I visit frequently is va.gov. There isn't anything visually interesting about this website, although it is remarkable how the governments' websites have dramatically improved in usability. A big problem was that government websites have to have more secure elements, and it seemed to take a long time before they had a normal level of usability.

I like to exercise a lot, I like to jumprope and lift weights, but I don't really visit too many fitness relate websites. I like to read and regularly go to Deschutes Public Library. Nothing too special about this website either, It unfortunately has a few broken links and the "learning resources" page that i use sometimes has some formatting issues. I don't love the library for it's website though.
